🗺️ A 100% French Tour de France for this 112th edition
The 2025 Tour de France promises a return to basics with an entirely hexagonal route , something never seen since 2020. 11 regions and 34 departments will welcome the 184 riders divided into 23 teams, starting from Lille Métropole on Saturday July 5, 2025.

During 21 stages , the riders will face all terrains:
7 flat stages for sprinters
6 hilly stages
6 mountain stages
The highest point of this edition will be reached upon arrival at Courchevel-Col de la Loze (2,304 m) , via its unique eastern slope .
Among the new features , 8 sites are joining the big Tour family, such as Lauwin-Planque, Chinon, Vif and Mantes-la-Ville , to name but a few. The Pau > Luchon-Superbagnères stage is also making its return after a 39-year absence!
With 52,500 m of elevation gain , the 2025 Tour promises to be tough, punctuated by two time trials, daily bonuses for the fastest and two well-deserved rest days.
🎽 the major jerseys of the Tour de France: reminders
You don't need to be a peloton expert to recognize the distinctive Tour de France jerseys . But what do they represent exactly? Roulez Jeunesse offers a short guide to keep on hand during the three weeks of racing.

🟡 The Yellow Jersey – Leader of the general classification
Symbol of the Tour de France, the yellow jersey , sponsored by LCL , distinguishes the leader of the general classification by time every day . It rewards consistency, endurance and versatility. For several years, this jersey has been designed by the Italian brand Santini , official partner of the Tour.
🔴⚪ The Polka Dot Jersey – Best Climber
With its iconic red polka dots, this jersey celebrates the kings of the mountains. Sponsored by E.Leclerc , it rewards the rider who accumulates the most points on the passes and summits. Created in 1975, this jersey pays tribute to Henri Lemoine , the track rider with the original jersey.
🟢 The Green Jersey – Leader of the points classification
Sponsored by Skoda , it recognizes the most consistent sprinter, the one who accumulates points at the finishes and intermediate sprints. Created in 1953, it owes its color to its first sponsor, La Belle Jardinière . We naturally think of Peter Sagan , seven times winner of this jersey synonymous with passion and speed.
⚪ The White Jersey – Best Young Rider
Sponsored by Krys , this jersey rewards the best rider aged 25 or younger in the general classification. It represents the future of cycling and has seen future champions like Laurent Fignon , Tadej Pogacar , or Egan Bernal , who even achieved the feat of winning both the white jersey and the yellow jersey !
